The one thing I hate the most during election time is when people don't know why they are voting for who they chose. A lot of this is because of the opinions of friends, or family members. People take on these opinions without any knowledge of the candidates. Its frustrating! On multiple occasions during this election year I've heard things such as, "I'm voting for Romney because he's better and Obama sucks." I will never understand some people.
Because of this, I decided to write a post about who I want to be our President for the 2013-2016 term. If you've been on my page for more than two seconds, you'd have noticed the Pagan-themed Obama logo on the top left of my blog. With that being said, It's obvious that I'm voting to re-elect our President Barack Obama. Why? You ask? I'll tell you.
Being a woman, a bisexual, and a Pagan my rights are on the line in this election. With Obama re-elected, more of my rights as a human will be recognized. He is the first president to support the equal rights of everyone to love and marry who they please. He understands that what he decides to do in his personal life should not affect the lives of others. He found and got to marry the one he loves, and wants everyone to be able to experience this. With Obama, we are one step closer to equal rights for everyone.
He's advocating for womens' rights when it comes to our sexual health, and equal pay for equal work. Birth control, pap smears etc. are much easier and cheaper to come by with his "Obamacare". Planned parenthood (who offers such things either free, or much cheaper to women who cannot afford medical care) will continue to be funded. Although, abortions are very controversial, he is pro-choice. Which means, a woman has a right to choose if she has a child or not. It's amazing to think that a woman's right over her own body is even being debated. Some of you may not like that, but think of it this way, just because you don't believe in abortion, does not mean that women who choose to get one, shouldn't. Although I am pro-choice, I don't believe in abortion, so I personally won't get one. However I personally don't think that my choice should be forced upon other women. It's unfair. I am a big advocate of the phrase "If you don't like it, don't do it/get it etc." i.e. If you don't like abortion, don't get one. If you don't believe in gay marriage, don't marry someone of the same sex. It really is that simple.
If I wanted the government in my vagina, I'd fuck a senator.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll catch up later.
Blessed Be everyone!
